Registering for the Career Fair

Company registration is now open for the TBP 2014 Career Fair. If you are interested in attending, please fill out this interest form. The deadline to register is January 17, 2014.

Cancellation Policy

You will receive a full refund if you cancel registration by January 13, 2014. After that date, we are unable to offer any refunds.

Email Schedule

Logistical emails will be sent out on the following dates (subject to minor changes):

  • Mid December - General Logistics details (parking, shipping, etc).
  • Early January - Request for Company Ads (if indicated on registration form)
  • January - Request final list of company representatives
  • January 25 - Résumé e-book made available (constantly updated as more students drop their résumés)

Parking will be available based on your company's pricing plan. More details on where to park and how will be announced closer to the event.

Networking Reception

The night of TBP Career Fair we will also hold a networking reception to give companies the opportunity to mingle and network with students in a more casual and relaxed setting.

Time/Place

The reception will take place at Le Meridien from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, February 3rd.

Who can attend

Due to space restrictions, we are offering guaranteed spots to our gold and silver sponsors and will offer spots based on availability for our basic sponsors. Registering earlier will increase your chances of getting a spot.

Invitations

This year, we will have an online system where companies can invite students to the networking reception in advance of the fair if they so choose. The number of invitations your company receives is dependent upon your sponsorship level.

The résumé e-book as well as a link allowing you to select specific students to invite will be released on January 25 (approximately one week before the fair). We request that you make your selections by Thursday, January 30, and your invitations will then be sent to students for confirmation. Please note that we are currently collecting résumés and will continue to collect résumés after the e-book is released.

You may also choose to reserve some or all of your invitations to be distributed during the fair. We will have printed invitations in your company packet when you arrive, and any unconfirmed invitations from the online system will also be reimbursed as printed invitations.

Shipping

Shipping to MIT

Be sure the company name and “TBP Career Fair” appears prominently on all boxes. Tau Beta Pi will deliver the boxes to your booth on the day of the Career Fair.

If you wish to verify that your boxes have arrived, call MIT Mail Services at 617-253-6000. Be sure to mention that you are calling in regards to the Tau Beta Pi Career Fair.

Due to limited availability of storage space at the Mail Services Center, please refrain from sending packages until January 15th. We thank you for your cooperation.

Shipping from MIT

We will arrange for a FedEx and UPS truck to be ready near the Career Fair site when the event ends. Companies are responsible for shipping costs; we request that companies have a pre-paid FedEx label so that packages may be directly loaded into the truck. The career fair staff will take care of packages to be sent via USPS. Please contact the career fair staff if your company plans to ship using a different carrier.

Payment

We accept two forms of payment: check and credit card. We ask that the price of sponsorship be paid upfront upon registration. Any optional extra charges incurred (A/V requests for all sponsors, ad in the guide and/or attendance at networking reception for basic sponsors only), will be emailed to you in a separate invoice. These extra charges can only be paid for by check.

Check

You will receive an invoice via email with instructions for mailing payment once you submit the registration form. This invoice will be for the price of sponsorship only.

For the optional extra charges as listed above, you will be sent a separate invoice during early December (exact date TBA).

Credit Card

Payment for sponsorship via credit card is done through MIT's AdmitOne site. Once you submit the registration form, you will receive an email with a link to the site. Please note that this system charges a 4% fee, so the sponsorship prices will differ from those listed on the logistics page.

Resources available to companies

Fair Booths

Fair booths are 8′ by 10′ wide. They are constructed with an 8′ backdrop and 3′ side rails on an aluminum frame. Each booth will be furnished with one 6′ covered and skirted table, two chairs, electrical outlets, and a 2-line identifying sign. Any additional furnishing will be the responsibility of the individual exhibitor.

Electricity & A/V Equipment

Tau Beta Pi will provide electricity for all booths. LCD projectors are available for a fee of $200. Please note A/V requests on your registration form. Free wifi is available courtesy of MIT - you can connect to the network 'MIT Guest'. Phone lines and/or LAN drops will not be available.

Information Sessions

Information sessions can be held Tuesday - Thursday, February 4 - 6. We will do our best to accommodate information session requests on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please indicate your request for an information session on the registration form. The earlier you register, the more likely we will be able to arrange to host an information session.

Interview Space

Interview space will be available the day after the fair on Tuesday, February 4. We will do our best to accommodate interview space requests based on availability. Please indicate your request for interview space on the registration form. The earlier you register, the more likely we will be able to arrange an interview space for you.
